We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at JPS Medical. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, including perioperative care, audit, education, research, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional anaesthetic care to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Contribute to the development and implementation of anaesthetic policies and procedures
- Participate in educational programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Manage acute, chronic, and persistent pain conditions, as well as pain complicated by other medical conditions
About the Hospital
Our hospital is a 160-bed facility and serves as the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community. The ICU is an 8-bed Level 2 ICU, and our general case mix includes trauma patients, sepsis, and multi-system failure, post-operative complications, unstable angina/AMI, cardiac failure/arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be registered with AHPRA and have at least 12 months of recent experience
- Be on the ANZCA training program and approaching Fellowship
- Hold the FANZCA
- Be eligible for the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ, and South Africa, Hong Kong, Malaysia)
- Have a confirmed ANZCA interview date
- Have been assessed by ANZCA and found to be substantially comparable
