Lead Piping Designer

  • Develop and prepare comprehensive piping engineering documentation, including detailed specifications, line lists, and pipe support schedules.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and checks of design deliverables, such as piping isometrics, piping plans, and plant layout drawings.
  • Perform advanced piping stress analysis and optimize piping layouts for optimal efficiency.
  • Provide expert guidance to the design team on pipe routing and equipment layout strategies.
  • Review and validate vendor data related to piping engineering activities.
  • Ensure seamless communication of piping design information between teams and stakeholders.
  • Offer technical support for improvement, maintenance, and modification projects.
  • Complete detailed design checks, resolve complex engineering issues, perform calculations, and optimize plant performance.
  • Review and update As-Built drawings and site procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Compile technically accurate reports to support Engineering activities and inform business decisions.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in design engineering roles with a focus on piping.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Minerals Processing) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience working in the Mining and/or Metals industry.
  • Strong understanding of production reporting systems, historian data analytics, and document management systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to adapt to new software applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
