Job Overview

The Army Aviation Ground Crewman Aircraft Support Instructor role involves developing and delivering training for the next generation of ADF personnel.

This position is based at the Army Aviation Training Centre and requires collaboration with the ADF and Commonwealth to provide aircraft maintenance, upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support, and training on surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms.

Main Responsibilities

As an instructor, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering training material at the School of Army Aviation, including the training and assessment of individuals.
  • Performing duties utilising Defence systems, publications, and standards.
  • Reviewing and amending courseware and handouts as required in accordance with Defence policy.
  • Assisting with the review and amendment of learning materials as directed.
  • Supporting the review and authorisation of equipment performance excellence.
  • Understanding and complying with equity and diversity principles.
  • Complying with Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Defence safety guidelines.
  • Meeting Defence environmental management requirements for sustainable use of resources.
  • Ensuring compliance with Operational and Technical Airworthiness regulatory framework.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher qualification.
  • Joint Fuels Inventory Management System (JFIMS) knowledge.
  • CHEM ALERT 1 - 6 skills.
  • Hazardous Chemicals Awareness certification.
  • Hot Refuel Supervisor certification after 12 months in trade.
  • AVN FARP Operator certification.

Desirable Skills

The following qualifications are desirable:

  • Defence Aviation Non-Technical Skills training.
  • Defence aviation and Military Risk Management training.
  • Airside Level 1 and 2 certification.
  • AVN ARMY Tow motor licence code.

Security Requirements

You must be an Australian Citizen and obtain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level as per Department of Defence requirements.
