Civil and Mining Landform Design Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Mining Landform Design Expert to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the preparation of mine landform designs and drawings, as well as the ability to collate and assist in the preparation of technical documentation, proposals and reports.

The role will involve providing peer and technical review of reports, contributing to teams responsible for project delivery, and developing strong relationships within the mining industry.

The successful candidate will be passionate about sustainability in mining and mine planning design, and have experience using relevant software packages including Civil3D, QGIS, ArcGIS, SIBERIA, CAESAR.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects and develop skills and experience in surface water hydrology/hydraulics, landform evolution and erosion modelling, and geotechnical engineering.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation of mine landform designs and drawings.
2. Collate and assist in preparation of technical documentation, proposals and reports in area of technical discipline.
3. Provide peer and technical review of reports.
4. Contribute to teams responsible for project delivery, to company standards.
5. Develop strong relationships within the mining industry, foster existing client relationships, and leverage client relationships to generate new leads and opportunities or initiate referrals.
6. Demonstrate care about the wellbeing of yourself and others, through actively participating in occupational health and safety standards, activities and initiatives.
7. Actively learn and develop capabilities in landform evolution & erosion modelling.

Job Requirements:

• Awareness of regulations, codes and standards including relevant professional procedures and practices.
• An understanding of surface water hydrology/hydraulics will be highly regarded.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and experience with technical report writing, technical data and design review, and technical report peer review.
• Experience in civil, environmental, geo-environmental or environmental sciences or similar.
• Possession to develop skills and experience of sustainability in mining and mine planning design.
• Mining, or client-side experience is considered an asset (but is not required).
• Ability and willingness to coordinate with staff and clients in different time zones.
• Experience using relevant software packages including Civil3D, QGIS, ArcGIS, SIBERIA, CAESAR, is considered an asset.
