We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our team at Ora Banda Mining. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing optimum underground development, stope designs, and mining methods.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement mine plans to ensure efficient and safe mining operations.
- Optimize equipment requirements and minimize mining costs.
- Deliver short, medium, and long-term mine plans to ensure consistency and continuity of the mine planning process.
- Prepare underground mine development and production schedules, including:
- Oversee the preparation and optimization of drill and blast plans.
- Plan and oversee the dewatering system in the mine.
- Coordinate mining engineering activities with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast, and contractor teams.
- Monitor day-to-day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards.
- Undertake ongoing updates of underground Life of Mine plan.
- Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance.
- Supervise mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities.
- Provide mine designs and schedules for underground capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts.
- Review underground mine planning cost reports and address any variances.
- Undertake project work and mine engineering activities as required.
- Promote a continuous improvement approach to the conduct of all operations.
To be considered for this role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in mining engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in underground mining operations.
- 2+ years in a senior mine planning role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Skilled in mine planning and scheduling software Deswik (and Deswik IS).
- First Class Mine Managers ticket, or experience to qualify.
- Current WA C-class driver's license.
