About the Role

The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality treatment planning and treatment delivery service to meet the needs of patients and fulfill the Radiation Oncologists treatment prescription.

The incumbent will work under reducing professional direction and through additional training/experience perform more complex radiation therapy services (planning/treatment) using specialized equipment requiring the selection and application of standardized techniques and methodologies.

The Radiation Therapist will provide assistance to less experienced radiation therapists, students on placement, and work experience students.

The incumbent will contribute to approved research programs and the departmental quality control programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a broad range of activities to ensure a high-quality treatment planning and treatment delivery service
  • Work under reducing professional direction and perform more complex radiation therapy services
  • Provide assistance to less experienced radiation therapists, students, and work experience students
  • Contribute to approved research programs and departmental quality control programs
Requirements
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Statement of accreditation in Radiation Therapy from the Australian Institute of Radiography
  • Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
  • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description
