HVAC Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Design Engineer to design and manage heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and residential projects.

  • Design HVAC systems for commercial and residential projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Perform heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software tools.
  • Prepare mechanical design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical services, providing technical support to site teams.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers throughout project life cycles.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshooting of systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in preparing tenders, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and Environmental policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, industry developments, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
  • Have minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC / mechanical services design and project delivery.
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software (e.g., CAMEL, DuctSizer).
  • Have excellent knowledge of Australian standards and Building Codes.
  • Possess strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Eligibility for or membership with Engineers Australia is desirable.
