Job Opportunity: Primary Care Medical Professional

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing quality medical services to Defence members.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality medical services to patients in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Participate in a team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time postgraduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
