About the company

Our client, a reputable FMCG business, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join their finance team in Shepparton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with experience in the FMCG industry.

About the role

  • Build relationships with the Operations Team to enhance factory performance and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to review factory performance and develop strategies for enhancement.
  • Assist in developing product costs for the portfolio, providing valuable insights for key decisions.
  • Help influence strategic decisions by identifying cost assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Use product data to reduce variances between expected and actual performance.
  • Collaborate on annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly performance reports.
  • Provide training and coaching to improve operational costing understanding among business leaders.

About you

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the FMCG environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Dynamics 365 is preferred but not essential.
  • Opportunity for relevant candidates to come straight from public practice.
  • High level of attention to detail with proven quality and accuracy of work.
  • Proactive research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • True team player.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Working conditions

  • Full-time, 6-month contract with the opportunity to be extended or made permanent.
  • Three days of office work and two days of remote work.
