The Department for Education, Children and Young People is seeking an experienced educational professional to support the implementation and embedding of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading. This role will focus on enabling school leadership staff and teaching teams to implement evidence-based, consistent and aligned strategies for the teaching of literacy and numeracy.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and learning, with expertise in literacy and numeracy instruction. They will be responsible for supporting schools to develop and implement high-quality literacy and numeracy programs, and for providing coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve their instructional practices.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educational leader to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of students in Tasmania. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work effectively with teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and embedding of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading.
- Develop and implement high-quality literacy and numeracy programs in schools.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve their instructional practices.
- Work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to achieve improved student outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in Education or related field.
- Teaching qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Education).
- 4+ years experience in teaching and learning.
- Expertise in literacy and numeracy instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
