We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team at Edmen Community Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to young people in residential settings.
Key Responsibilities- Create a Safe and Supportive Environment: Foster a secure and nurturing environment for at-risk youth, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Empower Daily Living Skills: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
- Facilitate Transportation and Activities: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities, promoting socialization and skill development.
- Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting, ensuring the health and well-being of young people.
- Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches, promoting healing and recovery.
- Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
- Qualifications: Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar.
- Driving Requirements: Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher) and willingness to commute to Toowoomba from Ipswich area.
- Working with Children Check: Current Blue Card.
- First Aid and CPR: Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
