Midwifery Care Specialist

Aid in the prenatal, delivery and postnatal care of newborns and their mothers as a Midwifery Care Specialist. You will work in hospitals supporting women, newborns and their families through pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period.

Job Role:

You will provide safe, evidence-based midwifery care through prenatal, delivery and postnatal stages. This includes:

  • Providing support and counselling to women and families during labour and recovery
  • Monitoring and assessing the wellbeing of mothers and newborns
  • Administering medications and treatments, including neonatal resuscitation
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care

With flexibility in choosing shifts or taking advantage of advanced bookings in public hospitals for a more consistent schedule, you can achieve a better balance between your professional and personal life.

Key Requirements:

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience
  • Bachelor of Midwifery
  • Current, unrestricted AHPRA certification
  • Work rights in Australia
  • A Valid National Police Check
  • Current NSW Employee Working with Children's Check
  • Up-to-date Vaccinations
  • Basic Life Support / Practical CPR Certification
  • Evidence of training in post-partum haemorrhage management and neonatal resuscitation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong observational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Calm, professional approach with a commitment to quality patient care
