As a Machine Learning Engineer at Canva, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex production systems that apply statistics and machine learning at scale. You will work closely with our leadership team to develop an AI/ML strategy and roadmap, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deploy machine learning models, including natural language understanding and processing systems, to improve the customer support experience.
- Partner with leadership to develop an AI/ML strategy and roadmap, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-impact projects.
- Lead the development of a natural language understanding/processing system that integrates seamlessly into the Canva product.
- Collaborate with MLEs across the organisation to tap into existing ML capabilities and/or work on cross-organisation problems and solutions.
- 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning/software engineering with a Product/SaaS company.
- Experience with industry-level high-scale natural language systems.
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, with experience building and deploying machine learning models.
- Familiarity with several machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Langchain, and Huggingface.
- Experience with RAG architectures and/or a good understanding of its application.
- Strong understanding of computer science/engineering fundamentals, including system design, data structures, architecture, and design patterns.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience pairing with and mentoring other engineers.
