Our Pottery Barn Kids store is looking for a Sales Associate who is dedicated to providing an exceptional shopping experience through outstanding customer service in a dynamic retail setting. This role is part-time, requiring 30 hours over a fortnight with a structured rotating schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver genuine, friendly, and enthusiastic customer service by adhering to high service standards.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with various services such as gift wrapping, gift registry, locating products, special orders, and deliveries.
  • Accurately handle register transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our products, features, benefits, and current promotions.
  • Employ effective sales techniques to enhance sales and boost productivity.
  • Meet and exceed established sales targets and contest goals.
  • Support the visual merchandising efforts, including presentation, signage, and lighting.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the store and stockroom.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or homewares, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for homewares and/or food.
  • Ability to connect with customers through service and sales.
  • A drive to achieve and surpass sales goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a team setting while also being self-motivated and managing time effectively.
  • Enjoy engaging with customers to understand their preferences and connect them with suitable products.
  • Confidence and enthusiasm to anticipate customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Success in environments with clearly defined sales objectives.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout the store and back-of-house areas, including standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb ladders and utilize equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver medium to large items, up to 30kg, using appropriate equipment and safety measures.
