Job Description

The Data Manager role involves working alongside peers in a multidisciplinary team within the defence JCTB directorate. The position reports directly to the Deputy Director J76 on matters relating to administration and management of simulation entity data.

You will play a key role in ensuring high-fidelity joint collective training through expert oversight of Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) enumeration and parametric data across all contested domains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain authoritative data repositories for Joint Synthetic Training Environment (JSTE) and Single Service events.
  • Audit, validate, and release Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) enumerations and parametric data to ensure compliance with Defence and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with ADF Capability and Modelling & Simulation stakeholders to enhance synthetic training fidelity.
  • Oversee ingestion, review, and approval of baseline data sets and support technical troubleshooting of simulation entity data.
  • Deliver guidance and training to upskill simulation staff in data structures and usage, supporting exercise planning and execution.
  • Maintain compliance with Defence IT Service Management (ITSM) policies and contribute to continuous professional development aligned with JCTB goals.
