We are seeking a highly skilled Fish Health and Welfare Manager to join our team at Huon Aquaculture Company.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our fish health team, driving innovation and excellence in fish health management. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our fish stock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead the Fish Health team with impact, inspiring and guiding your team by fostering a positive and collaborative environment while delivering clear and decisive direction.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating strategically to meet organisational goals and achieve fish health targets across marine and freshwater operations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse data to address challenges and offer strategic recommendations focused on long-term benefits, presenting your findings and reports effectively to stakeholders.
  • Solution Focused Approach: Apply a solution-focused mindset in a dynamic and challenging environment to support broader decision-making and prioritisation within the organisation.
  • Financial Acumen: Apply financial acumen to manage budgets and control project costs associated with fish health initiatives efficiently.
Requirements
  • A Veterinary qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience or tertiary qualifications in a science or related field, with strong technical knowledge of fish health and the ability to interpret complex technical details.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence, coach, and manage teams effectively, empowering your people to deliver, develop and grow.
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy building strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Proven experience in proactively planning initiatives and establishing clear, actionable objectives.
  • Drive to innovate our ways of working and embrace a dynamic environment.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
