Financial Advisor Role Overview

This role involves providing high-quality services to customers, identifying opportunities for new business or retention. Key responsibilities include processing cases, dealing with complex queries and investigating/resolving customer problems.


  • Analyzing specific problems and issues to find the best solutions is a crucial aspect of this position.
  • Providing excellent customer service by receiving visitors, assisting with information requests, and referring more complex matters to colleagues.
  • Scheduling follow-up actions and entering relevant CRM data after each customer contact.
  • Setting clear objectives for sales calls/meetings, tailoring standard materials, and asking relevant questions to gather information.
  • Developing relationship management plans for potential customer accounts and building relationships with decision-makers/influencers.
  • Maintaining knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, regulatory codes, and codes of conduct.
  • Monitoring sales and market data to identify areas for business development.
  • Creating sales opportunities through networking and market intelligence.
  • Conducting research and selecting relevant information for analysis using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Grade 12 (Matriculation) certificate as a minimum requirement.
  • A valid driver's license and own vehicle are necessary for this role.
  • FAIS compliance is essential for the position.
  • A clear criminal and credit check is required.
  • At least 3 years of working experience, preferably in sales, is expected.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Presentation skills are an added advantage.
  • NQF Level 5 - Higher, Advanced, or Occupational Certificate, or equivalent, is preferred.
