
Senior Radio Communications Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Technical Officer - Emergency Systems to support our Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining state-wide radio communications and emergency services management systems.
This pivotal role will collaborate with our IT team and operations to integrate mission-critical systems and support volunteer members across NSW.
You will bring hands-on experience with radio communications and IP network systems, alongside a project management style approach to coordinating technical work.
The ideal candidate should have proven capability in systems administration and managing virtualised environments, particularly VMware.
This role suits individuals from a radio or communications background with a solid understanding of contemporary data networks and their integration with radio systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Manager of Emergency Systems in developing, implementing and maintaining state-wide radio communications and emergency services management systems.
- Collaborating with the IT team and operations to integrate mission-critical systems and support volunteer members across NSW.
- Assisting with vendor relationships and prioritising competing technical requests in a dynamic environment.
About You
To qualify, you will need to have:
- Hands-on experience with radio communications and IP network systems.
- A project management style approach to coordinating technical work.
- Proven capability in systems administration and managing virtualised environments, particularly VMware.
- Comfort with overseeing vendor relationships and balancing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- A solid understanding of contemporary data networks and their integration with radio systems.
