Lead Fire Protection Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of integrated fire safety systems, including sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire detection, and suppression mechanisms across various projects.
  • Direct the entire project lifecycle from initial concept to detailed design, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Offer expert guidance and technical assistance to internal teams and clients, ensuring the provision of safe, compliant, and economically viable fire protection solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact for fire protection design inquiries and ensuring their requirements are met to the highest standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in fire protection design, ideally within a consultancy setting, with a proven history of managing complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire protection systems and design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant hydraulic calculation tools.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian Standards (e.g., AS 2419, AS 2118) and Building Codes, alongside international fire protection regulations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in project management, team oversight, and client relationship management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey intricate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
