Job Description

The role of Contract Specialist is pivotal in ensuring all head contract obligations are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support and assistance to Project Managers or Coordinators for each project
  • Ensuring all commercial and specific timing requirements of major head contracts are complied with
  • Collaborating closely with project personnel to ensure all subcontract packages are let on appropriate terms
  • Handling progress claims, variation claims, notices of delay, extension of time claims, and delay & disruption claims from subcontractors
  • Attending and actively participating in regular internal and client project meetings
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in contract administration/specialist or similar roles, preferably within the mining/resources industry.

They will also possess:

  • A complete understanding and application of contract administration principles
  • Experience in developing networks to create positive relationships and seek collaborative solutions
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in writing letters and undertaking summary calculations using Excel
  • Strong attention to detail skills when working under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a broader team while retaining individual autonomy
