Salary & Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,582 - $100,342, including annual leave loading and superannuation. Job Description
As a Developmental Educator at Everyday Independence, you will work closely with participants and their support teams to develop new skills and habits. You will champion the role of a social model practitioner, helping people overcome barriers that prevent them from engaging with their local community and the wider world. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting initial assessments using our LEAD evidence-based assessment tool
- Liaising with the interdisciplinary team to provide wraparound supports for participants and their families
- Supporting people in their everyday environments – home, work, school, or community
- Capacity building of support teams to provide capable environments
- Attending peer group supervision/mentoring and professional learning to grow expertise and skills
- Participating in weekly team meetings and sharing stories of impact
- Completing reflective practice to develop evidence-based plans
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to be a member of the DEAI (Membership required upon commencement)
- May be required to submit a suitability assessment and be deemed a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (Evidence of letter required)
- Be passionate about removing barriers using the social model of therapy
- Show empathy and understanding, while being open and non-judgmental
- Be driven to see high-impact outcomes in people's lives
- Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check
- Hold a valid driver's license
