Advanced Primary Health Care Professional

This role offers the opportunity to work with a reputable organization and provide primary health care services in a unique and rewarding environment.
About the Position- Located in Cairns, providing services across Far North Queensland, including Cape York communities
- A combination of day clinic and overnight clinic rosters are available
- A full-time or part-time position is available, with fractional FTE options also available (not less than 0.5 FTE)
- A maximum term contract of 6 or 12 months may be considered
- Provide general practice services, including history taking, examination, decision making, diagnostics ordering and interpretation, clinical procedures, specialist referrals or secondary care admissions
- Provide clinical care for acute or emergent patients, pending the attendance of retrieval services
- Conduct telehealth consultations using telephone, videoconference, or email
- Collaborate and liaise with other care providers to ensure an integrated approach to patient care
- Provide advice to nurses and other healthcare professionals as required
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including clinical audits and case reviews
- Respect cultural diversity, including the traditional Indigenous view of health
- Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
- At least 3 years post-graduate experience
- RACGP – GPT 3 or above (at least 12 months community GP experience)
- ACRRM – CGT 2 and above (with either 6/12 primary care OR 6/12 rural and remote practice OR completion of relevant AST)
- The ability to meet PHC credentialing requirements
- Previous experience in Emergency Medicine would be highly regarded
