**Role Summary**

A talented senior engineering professional is required to provide exceptional leadership and expertise in ensuring compliance with the highest standards of performance, safety, and technical excellence.

We seek an experienced engineer who can lead a team of experts in delivering air defence and air traffic management solutions that enhance Australia's national security infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the development and implementation of technical plans, overseeing a system safety engineer, senior logistics engineer, cybersecurity engineer, and configuration management specialists.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure activities comply with the Engineering Management System, providing governance and oversight as needed.
  • Monitor and report on engineering and configuration management metrics, addressing potential KPI and OPM performance issues before they impact contractual targets.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in technical planning proposal reviews and customer engagement, with authority to deputise during the Engineering Manager's absence.

**Requirements**

  • University degree in Engineering with a significant component of Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience with specialised knowledge of technical or operational practices within engineering.
  • Tertiary qualification and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in decision making, planning, and establishing goals with direct impact on operational results.
  • Excellence in time management task prioritisation and ability to maintain stability of performance under pressure.

**Desirable Skills**

  • Practical project management knowledge and experience.
  • Experience using Defence engineering and configuration management processes.
  • Knowledge of DASR, AAP 80000.011 ANSP.70(A) and ANSP.80(A) regulations.
  • Expertise in obsolescence management and system requirements traceability tools.
