Job Title: Aboriginal Mental Health Specialist

This is a dedicated position for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with severe mental illness as they transition from custody to their community.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, developing comprehensive treatment plans that address the complex healthcare needs of Aboriginal individuals with severe mental health issues.

By understanding patients' clinical, psychosocial, and behavioural vulnerabilities, the Aboriginal Mental Health Specialist will provide culturally sensitive and supportive care to Aboriginal people experiencing mental health issues.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans addressing the unique needs of Aboriginal individuals with severe mental health conditions.
  • Provide empathetic and culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal people experiencing mental health challenges.

Please note: This role involves working at Sydney Olympic Park on Wangal land and across multiple sites in custody, with flexible work-from-home arrangements.
