Job Title: Mental Health Support Volunteer

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as a Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Volunteer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

As a volunteer, you will support individuals in their recovery journey through creative and social activities, including art therapy, mindfulness, and Hearing Voices Network (HVN) peer support groups.

  • Assist with art therapy and creative workshops
  • Facilitate mindfulness, social, and wellbeing groups
  • Support HVN peer groups to create a safe space for people to share their experiences
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Encourage participation and connection in a safe space
  • Marketing and Events

About You:

  • Qualifications and Certificates:
    • Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than six months)
    • A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
    • A current working with Children Check
    • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Skills and Experience:
    • A passion for mental health, creativity, and group facilitation
    • Strong communication and empathy skills
    • Reliability and teamwork
  • Desirable:
    • Lived experience of mental health recovery or family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable
  • Attitude:
    • A positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress
    • The ability to uphold RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions
    • A proactive individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles
