About the Opportunity


Austin Health is seeking an experienced Oncology Massage Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in the Wellness and Supportive Care Program. This role will provide specialized oncology massage to selected patients with cancer, both inpatient and outpatient settings.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality oncology massage services to patients in accordance with established guidelines and protocols;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support and care for patients throughout their cancer journey;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care;
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in oncology massage therapy;
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting open communication, respect, and teamwork.


Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in remedial massage or myotherapy (e.g., Diploma of Remedial Massage or Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy);
  • Completion of Modules 1-4 of the Oncology Massage Training through Oncology Massage Training (or equivalent);
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in therapeutic massage, including some experience providing massage to oncology patients;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the special needs of people with cancer - physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and informational;
  • Demonstrated competence in providing massage support to diverse populations, including those from varied social, cultural, and religious backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Computer skills to enable accurate scheduling, documentation, and data recording.

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per annum
