Emergency Nursing Career Development Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurses to participate in our Emergency Nursing Discovery Program. This program is designed for Year 2 or above Registered Nurses who have little or no experience in the speciality of emergency nursing.

Job Description:

This opportunity provides a unique chance for you to develop your skills and knowledge in emergency nursing, working alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive environment. You will gain hands-on experience in managing patients with various conditions, including trauma, cardiac, and respiratory emergencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Div 1)
  • Acute nursing experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

About the Program:

The Emergency Nursing Discovery Program is a 6-month structured clinical program that aims to provide participants with the foundation knowledge and clinical skills required to practice safely and effectively in the emergency department setting. The program includes:

  • Experience and practice emergency nursing in a supportive environment
  • Foundation knowledge and skills required for working in emergency nursing
  • Competency in essential emergency clinical skills and development of skills in assessment and management of adult and paediatric emergency patients

  • Management of the fast track patient
  • Cardiac monitoring and ECG analysis
  • Respiratory assessment and management
  • Management of the basic trauma patient
  • Advanced neurological assessment and toxicology
  • Advanced principles of fluid management
