The Battlefield Communications System (BCS) is a revolutionary next-generation networking solution that integrates custom and off-the-shelf technology to deliver superior C4 capabilities for ADF personnel. Its modular design ensures rapid deployment and customization for various missions, making it a centerpiece for multiple communications programs.
">- About BCS
This position requires an experienced engineer who can drive the vision, customer engagement, development integration, and testing of deployable communications hardware and software that comprise the common and unique product lines of BCS.
">- Key Responsibilities
- Work with internal and customer stakeholders to lead the vision, roadmap development, integration, and testing of products within the BCS enterprise
- Lead architecture evolution of the Mission System and Support System across all BCS programs
- Perform engineering activities as needed by the BCS chief engineer, including technical design reviews and engineer review and approvals
- Support the harmonization of BCS product baselines by tracking and managing both common and unique components
- Collaborate with the Joint Systems Engineering Manager to balance priorities across the BCS program, business unit, and engineering function to deliver optimal results
- Identify opportunities and risks to support the growth of the BCS program
- Ensure proposals align with BCS system fundamentals and offer competitive responses
- Foster a diverse and inclusive engineering work environment that models Boeing's Seek, Speak, and Listen behaviors
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
- Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse teams
- Proven track record of leading successful large or complex engineering development projects
- Australian citizenship to meet defense security requirements
