The role of a frontline nursing professional involves conducting key duties as per the IUIH Model of Care.
This position requires effective planning and coordination of workload to achieve results in conjunction with the medical/primary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality nursing practice within an Aboriginal primary health care model of service by assisting the medical team and effectively coordinating own and team's workload.
- Understanding of primary health care principles and the ability to work with various professionals and the public.
- Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal to ensure quality medical documentation.
- Responsibility for vaccine and cold chain management and infection prevention and control.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting comprehensive models of chronic disease care.
- Competence in the use of clinical software systems, technology, the internet, and desktop applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
- Operate within established clinical policies and procedures at all times.
- Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with regular reviews into the efficiency of clinical service provision.
- Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels to support staff development and teamwork.
Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher qualification.
Full unrestricted registration with the relevant nursing authority.
National police clearance.
Prior experience in the relevant field of nursing.
Ability to meet performance targets and outcomes.
Capacity to support a continuous improvement model for achieving desired outcomes.
Strong listening, influencing, and persuasion skills.
Preferred- At least two years of experience in a primary health setting.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Immunisation endorsement and previous experience.
- Experience in multidisciplinary health teams and chronic disease management.
