Advanced Surgical Nursing Role
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced surgical veterinary nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in delivering the best outcomes for our surgical patients.
About the Position:- This role requires strong interest and experience in surgical procedures and patient care.
- Previous referral surgical nursing experience is desirable but not essential.
- A broad range of surgical knowledge and pre- and post-operative patient care skills are required.
- The successful candidate must be passionate about providing exceptional patient and client care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Autonomy, time management, and a strong work ethic are also essential.
- Experience with various sedation and anesthesia techniques for sick and critically ill patients is critical.
- A Certificate IV in Vet Nursing or Veterinary Technician degree with a minimum of four years' experience is mandatory.
- Surgical nurses play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical service, including patient assessment, planning, and execution of specialist procedures.
- Nursing skills include intravenous and urinary catheters, diagnostic tests, radiographs, anesthetic monitoring, and intensive care.
- The surgery nurse roster involves weekday and weekend shifts, including public holidays.
