Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Front Desk Coordinator:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing, organizing and prioritizing various clerical functions within a Physical Therapy Department. This may include answering phone calls in a timely manner, assisting or directing callers to the appropriate person or department, receiving and updating patient information, maintaining files in the correct order, establishing and maintaining accurate patient records and record filing systems.
- Accurately complete patient registration process
- Verify patient insurance benefits
- Process pre-certifications / authorizations according to special requirements of the patient's insurance company
- Schedule appointments considering patient needs and utilizing clinic time efficiently
To be successful as a Front Desk Coordinator, the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties effectively. A high school graduate or equivalent is required, along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work processing experience is essential, including mastery of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access). Experience with other PC software, such as statistical databases and presentation tools, is also beneficial. Three years of related office experience are required, preferably in a medical setting, with previous rehabilitation experience considered an asset.
