Electrical Apprentice

We are seeking an Electrical Apprentice to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining buildings, industrial systems, and equipment, and develop on-the-job skills.

About the Role
  • The role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

The successful candidate will receive training from the current operations team in proper job safety and repair procedures, observe operations while performing ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs, and assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems
  • Work with management to ensure energy efficiency by taking measures to verify that all systems are operating at optimal levels
  • Inspect new or existing installations for compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Follow established procedures in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities
  • Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a college program or technical school
  • In-progress Certificate III Electrical
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
  • Applicant required to provide latest student transcript
  • Must be Australian Citizen - NV1 clearance is required
  • Must have driver's license
