The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth in vehicle sales to corporate and government customers in Australia and New Zealand. This involves acquiring new accounts, collaborating with the Key Account Management team, and formalizing commercial terms with leasing companies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Sales Strategy
- Partner with the Regional Enterprise Sales Manager to develop a cohesive strategy for B2B vehicle sales growth in Australia and New Zealand.
- Meet Sales Objectives
- Drive new account creation, deliverable orders, and sales meetings to meet quarterly sales objectives.
- Ensure timely payments for existing products and services.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Keep regular contact cadence with active customers and follow the desired sales motion through qualification and negotiation stages.
- Drive repeat business on renewal cycles by working with leasing companies on end-of-lease reports to identify new targets.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with Key Account Managers to enable multiparty relationships and triangular partnerships.
- Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to generate new enquiries and position Tesla's brand to fleet buyers.
- Product Knowledge and Competitor Analysis
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge of all vehicles, processes, and business finance solutions.
- Conduct competitor analysis on a regular basis and share feedback and insights.
- Administrative and Organizational Skills
- Use Tesla's Customer Relationship Management system and tools to log appointments, calls, test drives, contacts, and meeting notes.
- Participate in and host test drive events and attend industry conferences to represent Tesla and seek out new business opportunities.
- Business and Government Sales Experience
- Demonstrated track record in business and government sales with evidence of closing large complex transactions.
- Commercial Sales Skills
- Proficient experience in Business-to-Business or commercial sales with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets and goals.
- Relationship Management and Communication
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Administrative and Organizational Skills
- Strong administrative skills, including record keeping and organizational skills.
