Science Teacher Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science Teacher to join our academic community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science to students in Years 7-12 and contributing to the development of our curriculum and pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging Science lessons that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
  • Maintain high standards of student behavior and safety in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school policies and priorities.
  • Participate in professional learning to improve knowledge and skills.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
  3. Ability to monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  5. Demonstrated behaviors and attitudes consistent with Department values, with a commitment to reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning.
