Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the dissemination of Sustainable Farms research findings across farming communities in Eastern Australia. This involves reviewing, writing, and creating new content that increases engagement with target audiences.

This position entails developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies, collaborating with external contractors to produce publications and videos, managing websites, and fostering relationships with media outlets. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating creative communication products that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and write content based on Sustainable Farms research findings, ensuring accuracy and relevance
  • Develop and implement effective social media strategies, leveraging various platforms to increase brand visibility
  • Collaborate with external contractors to create engaging publications and videos that support the organization's goals
  • Manage and maintain websites, ensuring they are up-to-date and provide valuable information to users
  • Liaise with external partners, including Local Land Services, Landcare, and government departments, to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Reports directly to the Director, Sustainable Farms
  • Works closely with staff within the Sustainable Farms initiative and maintains effective communication with the ANU media team as required
  • Essential skills include producing engaging audio-visual resources, media engagement, and digital marketing campaigns, with a focus on creativity and innovation

Work Environment

This role plays a vital part in delivering effective resources that support the adoption of natural asset management practices, enhancing biodiversity on farms in the Wheat Sheep Belt. The ANU College of Science encompasses various disciplines, including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication.
