Job Summary

We are seeking a diligent and organized Facilities Officer to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep and enhancement of our school grounds and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service. You will work closely with our events team to ensure seamless event setups and support our wider operations function in ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards.

This is a permanent full-time position working 38 hours per week. The successful candidate will demonstrate high initiative, a solid work ethic, and the physical ability to perform manual duties.

About the Role

This role involves:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Performing general repairs and ongoing maintenance of school buildings, furniture, and equipment; Conducting safety checks and inspections for compliance and reliability; Operating tools and machinery safely, following WHS guidelines; Setting up and supporting school events, including equipment and furniture assembly; Managing and completing tasks using the school's online maintenance system
  • Grounds Care & Cleaning: Maintaining outdoor areas through mowing, pruning, weeding, spraying, and mulching; Undertaking cleaning activities such as cobweb removal, pressure washing, blowing leaves, and general tidying; Appropriately using and storing chemicals, equipment, and related supplies; Supporting landscaping or garden improvement projects as needed
  • General Operational Support: Following WHS procedures and acting as a safety advocate across campus; Assisting with event set-up/pack-down and ad hoc cleaning tasks; Purchasing and managing maintenance-related consumables in line with School policies; Operating emergency and security systems as trained; Serving as Fire Warden if required; Remaining available for occasional after-hours duties and on-call tasks.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A drivers licence (LR or HR desirable)
  • A General Construction Induction (White) Card
  • A Forklift licence (desirable)
