About the RoleThe Assistant City Manager position plays a pivotal role in supporting the City Manager and overseeing the operations of assigned departments. This individual assists in implementing Council goals and objectives, coordinates activities with other departments and external agencies, and assumes Acting City Manager duties when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-level support to the City Manager and oversee departmental operations.
- Assist in implementing Council goals and objectives.
- Coordinate activities with other departments and external agencies.
- Act as Acting City Manager in the City Manager's absence.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in public administration or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local government operations and applicable laws.
- Five years of increasingly responsible management experience, preferably in a governmental organization.
- Advanced degree in public administration or a closely related field.
