Teaching Opportunity for Aboriginal Individuals

This role presents a chance for an Aboriginal identified individual to make a positive impact in the lives of others through education.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and developing courses that cater to the educational needs of offenders, ensuring they meet the requirements of accredited programs and training packages.

The position plays a crucial role in reducing reoffending rates and enhancing community safety by delivering classes and sessions that address the educational and personal growth needs of inmates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver educational sessions to offenders, focusing on adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate and refine assessment processes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including recording offender attendance, progress, and achievements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and contributing to their personal and professional development.

Requirements:
  • Proof of Aboriginal ancestry.
  • A degree in Education as per the Crown Employees (Education Employees Department of Justice – Corrective Services NSW) Award.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification.
  • A current driver's license.
