Theatre Set-Up Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Set-Up Assistant to join our dynamic team in this permanent opportunity.

This is a key role that requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth setup of theatre operations for various surgical procedures.

About the Role
  • Ensure consumable stock is rotated and date-checked to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
  • Complete case setups of instrumentation and consumables for upcoming operating lists, ensuring all necessary items are readily available.
  • Assist in completing Emergency and Add-on case set ups as per bookings, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with CSSD staff to maintain organized sterile stock storage rooms, adhering to strict guidelines for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Liaise with Scrub Nurses to update Surgeon Preference Cards, ensuring accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Respond promptly to calls from Theatres to retrieve sterile stock as required, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Monitor and record temperatures in Sterile Stock Storage Rooms, identifying any anomalies or issues.
  • Educate team members on proper handling and storage of consumable stock, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Assist in maintaining an efficient workflow by prioritizing tasks, managing time effectively, and communicating clearly with colleagues.
About You
  • Hold relevant qualifications, such as Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT32512) or Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (HLT37015-01).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Showcase your ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Possess a strong understanding of scope of practice, ensuring compliance with relevant registration standards.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, consistently delivering high-quality support to clients and colleagues alike.
