Job Description

This exciting role involves driving eligible clients and service participants safely across the municipality of Melton as a Community Bus Driver. As part of the Community Care and Active Living service unit, you will report to the Community Transport Supervisor and be responsible for transporting clients with limited mobility, age-related needs, or frailty to various locations.

You will work closely with a dynamic team, delivering door-to-door transport services within transfer schedules while ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of buses. With a focus on customer service and empathy, you will provide a welcoming environment for every passenger, assisting them with boarding and alighting safely, including securing shopping and mobility aids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport clients to and from various locations, adhering to Council policy and procedures.
  • Provide a person-centred, flexible, and responsive door-to-door transport service.
  • Report any concerns regarding client health and wellbeing, identifying situations where additional support may be required.
  • Enable bus passengers to board and alight safely, assisting clients as needed.
  • Administer First Aid as necessary and respond during emergencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A valid Full Victorian Drivers Licence enabling you to drive a bus seating up to 12 passengers.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or a related field with relevant experience desirable.
  • A safe driving record.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with older people, individuals with dementia, people with disabilities, and their carers.
  • A current Level 2 First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • The ability to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $67,833 to $71,555 per annum, pro rata, plus 11.5% Super. You will also enjoy 5 weeks' annual leave*, flexible working hours, extensive career development programs, 16 weeks' paid parental leave* (Super paid during parental leave), and other benefits.
