The role of Operations Manager is a high-performance leadership position that oversees all aspects of residential construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and timelines.
    • Support Project Managers with procurement, vendor negotiations, and materials delivery.
    • Provide leadership to teams, ensure quality control, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Processes:
    • Drive contract acquisition to meet annual revenue goals.
    • Create and manage operational processes for contracts, estimating, budgets, change orders, and project documentation.
    • Lead process improvements and operational innovations.
  • Client Experience Management:
    • Maintain transparent communication with clients throughout projects.
    • Deliver regular project updates and address challenges proactively.
    • Implement rigorous quality control processes to exceed client expectations.
  • Quality Control / Safety / Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control inspections and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
    • Ensure OSHA compliance, safety training, and environmental regulations are followed on all project sites.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage internal work teams.
    • Ensure team profitability, safety, efficiency, and morale.
    • Oversee maintenance and readiness of equipment, tools, vehicles, and facilities.

The ideal candidate brings 7-10 years of hands-on field experience in residential construction, paired with 3-5 years of proven leadership managing people, processes, and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7-10 years of field experience in residential construction.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing teams and operational performance.
  • Proven track record in leading successful construction teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of project flow from concept to completion.
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in Buildertrend, scheduling software, time-tracking tools, and digital workflows.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities with high accountability.
  • Ability to inspire and coach teams while maintaining collaboration and morale.
  • Adaptable, data-driven, and committed to continuous improvement.
