About the Opportunity

This is a unique leadership opportunity where the Business Director and Canberra Branch Manager will play a dual role, spearheading Beca's strategic growth in the Defence Market in Australia and operational leadership of our Canberra Branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Reporting to the General Manager, Defence, Infrastructure and Advisory, drive and execute the strategic initiatives of the business line, ensuring alignment with Beca's overarching goals and objectives.
  • Client Management: Foster and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Market Development: Liaising with the Defence Market Director, develop and implement business development strategies to expand market presence in the ACT, including identifying new business opportunities and securing new contracts.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the team, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to meet revenue and profit targets.
  • Developing our Team: Grow a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while ensuring the development and retention of key talent.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Operational Oversight: Working closely with the NSW/ACT Regional Manager, manage day-to-day operations of the branch to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, including overseeing project delivery, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the branch against set targets and goals, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Bring the 'Best of Beca' to the ACT, and act as the primary liaison between the branch and the wider organisation, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and strategies.
  • Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing (HSEW) Compliance: Ensure that the branch complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, promoting a culture of safety and well-being across our team.
  • Community Engagement: Represent Beca within the local community, enhancing the company's reputation and fostering good relationships with local stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a well-established professional with a background in the Defence and National Security market, preferably with experience in growing a Defence portfolio in a consulting or contracting environment.
