About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of HV (Secondary) design for transmission & distribution projects, developing and reviewing technical documentation, and supporting high voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects.

As a key member of our Transmission & Electrification team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including transmission & distribution, generation, renewables, transportation, property & buildings, defence, water, and mining.

You will report to our Engineering Manager and be responsible for leading design projects, coordinating with various disciplines, and undertaking short-term site visits as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including design reports, equipment specifications, cable schedules, and interface documents
  • Utilize a working knowledge of primary substation elements, transmission lines, underground cables, and power system earthing design
  • Support the high voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects
  • Undertake reviews of designs and reports
  • Check and verify design work undertaken by other team members
  • Coach and mentor junior staff in electrical engineering or project delivery
  • Provide leadership in Safety-in-Design (SID) and fulfill legislative requirements in SID
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Typically 8-14+ years' post-graduate experience ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Existing RPEQ/RPEV or the ability to attain it is required
  • Experience in EHV and HV electrical engineering from conceptual to detailed design in substations, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, or renewable energy projects
  • Proven experience in secondary design, including protection, control, AC/DC systems, SCADA, and related studies
  • Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to provide robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues, and risks
