The role of a Billing Specialist involves overseeing the generation and submission of billing for homecare visits, ensuring seamless collection and posting of payments and adjustments.
Responsibilities:- Ensure accurate entry of all medical visits into the practice management EHR Medical Billing System.
- Reconcile charges and data entered into the system to guarantee 100% data entry accuracy; ensure correct provider, medical service, and coding are billed.
- Collect accounts receivable from various revenue sources, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance.
- Audit submitted claims daily to respond to rejections, denials, and short-pays to facilitate timely collections.
- Review and post Remittance Advice to EHR Medical Billing System.
Additional responsibilities include negotiating settlements with insurance companies and courts, and performing adjustments within the EHR Medical Billing System according to department guidance.
Qualifications:- Associate's degree preferred
- Experience posting and balancing payments
- Experience billing Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial health plans for medical services preferred
