Medical Registrar

BPT2s and BPT3s gain exposure to various medical registrar roles including ward-based General Medical Registrar, Admitting Registrar, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Hospital in the Home, Aged Care, Palliative Care, and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Grampians Health provides care to the greater Grampians region, covering 20% of Victoria.
The base hospital is a 221-bed acute facility with ICU and a cardiac Cath lab.
The regional cancer care centre is located with an adjacent sub-acute hospital.
RACP advanced trainees in general medicine, oncology, and cardiology support the units.
The hospital offers regular education sessions, including in the simulation centre, and has an attached clinical school with students from Deakin University and the University of Melbourne.
Grampians Health - Ballarat includes the base hospital, Queen Elizabeth Centre (70 beds), and psychiatric services (67 beds).
Facilities include a short stay unit, modern emergency, critical care, ambulatory, aged care, and rehabilitation services, integrating inpatient, ambulatory, community, and home-based services.
It is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools, with a strong commitment to teaching and professional development.
