Operations Manager RoleThis is a mid-senior level management role responsible for overseeing workshop and administrative functions, including workflow planning, customer service, safety, compliance, team leadership, and reporting. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the business delivers consistently high workmanship and service, enabling owners to focus on growth and strategy.The successful candidate will have experience running or managing a service-based, workshop-style business with a strong understanding of mechanical or auto-electrical work environments. They will possess team leadership skills with practical, down-to-earth communication, as well as high levels of organization and the ability to balance detail and big-picture thinking.The role includes structured training, coaching opportunities, and clear pathways to develop leadership within the business. The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of the business, from day-to-day operations to strategic planning and decision-making.The ideal candidate will be a motivated and results-driven individual who can think critically and make informed decisions. They will be able to build strong relationships with the team, suppliers, and clients, and have a proven track record of improving processes and increasing efficiency.The Operations Manager will be responsible for:
  • Managing daily workflow across the workshop and admin teams
  • Monitoring operations, addressing issues early, and keeping schedules on track
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and efficient workspaces
  • Leading reporting on productivity, job completion, and service delivery
The Operations Manager will also be responsible for:
  • Setting clear expectations and creating an environment where people can do their best work
  • Providing on-the-floor support and mentoring, particularly for developing team members
  • Building and maintaining a team culture grounded in professionalism, pride, and mutual respect
Key qualifications include:
  • Experience running or managing a service-based, workshop-style business
