About the Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time position within the Neurology Department at The Royal Children's Hospital. The Grade 2 Scientist in Neurophysiology is responsible for recording EEG studies in various locations, including outpatient departments, medical and surgical wards, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and the Royal Women's Hospital neonatal intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recording EEG studies in various locations
  • Assisting senior scientists in performing multimodal evoked potential monitoring of spinal pathways
  • Assisting neurologists during epilepsy surgery
  • Performing nerve conduction and EMG investigations on outpatients and inpatients
  • Participating in the after-hours roster providing neurophysiology services during weekends and public holidays
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in diagnostic neurophysiology tests or procedures
  • Eligibility for Membership to the appropriate Professional Body (NSSA, ANTA, AAIM)
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in a tertiary pediatric neurophysiology unit
  • Enrolment in a Masters of Neurophysiology
