Culinary Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our early learning community in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing healthy meals for children, while promoting knowledge of healthy eating practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality food services and contributing to exceeding outcomes for children and educators. If you have excellent time management skills, enjoy working in a kitchen environment, and are available to work Mondays, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety guidelines
  • Manage kitchen resources efficiently, ensuring minimal waste and optimal productivity
  • Collaborate with educators to develop menu plans that meet the needs of children
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in culinary arts
Requirements:
  • A valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (required)
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Cert II / III in Commercial Cooking (highly regarded)
  • Cooking experience in an early childhood setting (highly regarded)
