We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Project Lead to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our engineering construction team, you will be responsible for leading a group of skilled draughtsmen, managing client relationships, and producing high-quality drawings for equipment placement, piping systems, ductwork, and ventilation systems using various drafting applications.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance experience within the mechanical drafting industry. A strong background in HVAC contracting and ducting markets is essential, with excellent drafting skills and leadership potential. You will also possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of skilled draughtsmen and manage client relationships

  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members

Requirements:

  • 5-15 years of shopdrawing experience as a mechanical draftsperson in contracting
  • Extensive drafting experience in HVAC contracting and ducting markets
  • Strong drafting skills; leadership potential will be considered
  • Excellent team player with an outgoing attitude
  • Ability to lead client meetings
  • Strong REVIT skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with colleagues and clients
