The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals living with dementia, providing tailored care and support in a unique model of care that prioritises residents' needs.

About the Role:

  • This key position requires a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in complex dementia-specific care to provide clinical oversight and professional competence.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary health team to ensure resident outcomes are met, advocating for person-centred care and promoting well-being at every stage.
  • Facilitation of clinical care delivery by SDAs (Registered Nurses) and SDCs (Carers) will be a key aspect of this role.
  • Hands-on modelling, coaching, and mentoring in clinical and complex behaviour management areas and processes will also be required.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex behaviours and psychological symptoms of dementia will be essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in specialised dementia and/or mental health service nursing for older people.
  • Significant experience operating as a consultant or specialist nurse preferably within Aged Care.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills will be necessary to manage challenging situations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential.
  • Empathy and patience will be required when interacting with residents and their families.
